The joys of fall

It is glorious here this morning, 48 degrees and a cobalt blue sky with not a single cloud. Today was Walk to School day as part of Nashville’s Walk Nashville effort. Keifel and I walked with the boychick to school. They had granola bars and water bottles in the small gym for the kids who hoofed it. It was a nice way to spend the early morning, coffee cup firmly in hand.

Am I very awake now. Much more than I usually am at even 8 AM (which is scary if you consider I drive Keifel to work most days). Now, I am ready to take a running crack at the kitchen. I’ve decided to do some experimenting this week. I have two appliances in my kitchen that I have never used: a pizelle maker and a pasta maker (an extruder type not the rolling kind). As I don’t have the right flour to make pasta it will have to be pizelli. I will make a full report of the effort. I also need to get cracking on a few things for the party at my mamacita’s this weekend.

I am supposed to do fruit and veg trays with dips. I have the dip recipes and Friday I’ll do the grocery run for all the fruit and veg. Hey, CSG, can I borrow your cooler? But, I also want to do a little cookie or something fun. I especially would like to have a vegan option of some sort. I hate it when the Divine Miss M has only carrot sticks and a pretzel to keep her company.
